Well that's sorely disappointing. Thanks for the reply anyway.

Dear Brendan,
According to Shaun Martin, this is a known bug:

Subject: [Users] Changing RSS feed
Hi users, I'm a bit confused, hope you can help. Section 12 of the
datainfo.properties file says that editing rss.url and rss.more, or
uncommenting about.text1 and about.text2 will change the "News" box on the
login screen, but I can't seem to get anything to actually affect it. I've
uncommented rssURL and rssMore and tried to change their addresses, I've
changed them to actually be rss.url and rss.more, as described in the
commented instructions, and I've tried uncommenting the about.texts. I've
even restarted tomcat between changes, just in case it needed to reload to
take effect, but nothing happens. Is there something I'm missing to alter
the feed on the login page from the default openclinica blog? I'd prefer to
get the about.text fields working, but at this point I'd appreciate the
ability to enact any change on it.
