Some question about the open source code

JennyChenJennyChen Posts: 1

I am a student new for the OpenClinica source code develop. I am confusing with the structure of the source code. As it shown in the picture: I want to know
1. what is the function of core\web\ws packages? and Does the openClinica follow the Spring MVC framework? Where is the DAO and Service classes store in the source code folder?.
2. The source code already has the controller package to store the servlet for user's request. But why there is another 'control' package? what is the function of the 'control' package?
Really Thanks a lot!

    Accepted Answer

ws = OpenClinica SOAP web services, is going to be deprecated in the future
web = main OpenClinica web application including REST web services
core = core module, on which both ws and web depend

DAO and Services are in core

control/ controller - I have a feeling that control is legacy and new development goes to controller
