Insight makes it easy to ask questions of ALL of your clinical and operational data and visualize answers via interactive reports and dashboards. The idea is simple, but the results are powerful: ask your questions, choose your visualizations, then return often for updated, interactive results that link you to all of the underlying data.

Monitor Rights

I have a question regarding Monitor Rights: Is it possible to remove the "Create Dataset" right for Monitor ?

Thank you,

It's not possible to configure the existing user rights, unless you modify the OpenClinica source code.

Depending on the requirements, it might be suitable to use the Data Entry Person (or Clinical Research Coordinator) role instead, which can't create datasets.

The available roles and their rights are specified in the User Matrix [1], which is linked under the Users and Roles section [2] of the docs.

A configurable user roles feature has been on the agenda for some time [3], but it would help to vote for the issue and add a description of your use case if possible.

    Thank you Lindsay.

We don't want an external monitor to have the right to edit data, so CRC is not possible.

We also don't want them to have the possiblility to extract data but unfortunatly this right comes with the monitor role.

Regarding the extracting of could remove the menu link by editing the file (OpenClinica\WEB-INF\classes\org\akaza\openclinica\i18n).

    You would need to consider:

    a) this would hide the link for all users
    b) you need to re-apply the change if upgrading OC
    c) if a user knows the URL then they can always add it to the browser and get to the Create Dataset page
