Re: OpenClinica: open source platform for clinicalresearch

Dear Yufang,
Managed to do a clean database setup of openclinica with notes from
Andrew Miranda (Blank page after login) and it's now working perfectly.

Hello Tony,
Please send us your Tomcat logs so that we could diagnose the trouble.
Here is the way to get logs (in case that you never done this before):
1. stop tomcat
2. find CATALINA_HOME\logs directory. More specifically, find your
tomcat directory that is where your Catalina_Home points to; under
that
directory you can find "logs" directory;
3. delete all the files in logs directory;
4. start tomcat
5. redo what you did until you get the trouble. i.e. login and get
blank
screen.
6. zip files in CATALINA_HOME\logs and send the zip file to our
developers
Thanks.

Dear Ben,
Thanks for welcoming me into the openclinica community.
Yes indeed i do have problems, i do all the installation and have
everything running upto the point of login in and then it takes me to
a
blank screen.
I happened to follow the steps given in the mail threads started by
Andrew Miranda (Blank page after login) but still can't get through.
Another thing to note is:
Been following the installation manual for OpenClinica 2.0 on Windows,
and happened to do all the steps correctly.
I get to the point of login and once i enter my name and password it
takes me to blank screen .../OpenClinica/MainMenu.
However the 3 files below mentioned in the requirements that i could
not get instructions on what to do with them or where to install them.
JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library 1.0
Jarkarta POI - Java API To Access Microsoft Format Files
Jarkarta Digester - XML to Java Object Configuration
Thanks.

Dear Tony,

Thank you for recently registering on the OpenClinica website. As an
open source EDC/CTM/CDM system based on leading standards and cutting
edge technology, OpenClinica presents a compelling alternative to
existing solutions. And of course, the product is free!

If you face challenges installing or setting up the system I'd
strongly
suggest sending an email to the OpenClinica Users mailing list at
users@openclinica.org
for assistance.

Finally, we can try to arrange a time for a conference call/live
demonstration of OpenClinica if you think it would be helpful. As an
open source project it is important for us to stay attune to the needs
of our community and direct, one-on-one interaction is an important
component of this. We'd be interested in learning more about your
objectives and this would be a good opportunity to ask any questions
you
may have. We can also discuss OpenClinica Enterprise and the various
support services that are available for OpenClinica adopters.

If you give me some times that work for you I'll coordinate on this
end.

Regards,
Ben
