Thanks for bringing up some ideas in the discussion. I might not describe my question clearly. As you said, I meant it is event Definition which is associated to different CRFs. In item 2 of your emial is talking about study as my understanging. My scenario is about subject to be swicthed between different event definitions. No anything changed in study. Yufang's email gives a method to do it.
    Thank you for your help,
    Wei

    Hi Wei,
It is an interesting requirement that you propose in item #1. I would like
to understand it a little more.
    Scenario:
    1. Researcher r had created a study s with 3 event definition (note that
this is definition, it is NOT an instance of the events):
    a. event e1 -- measure and record blood pressure weekly, once a week
    b. event e2 -- measure and record EKG weekly, once a week
    c. event e3 -- measure sugar level in blood weekly, once a week
    2. Now the researcher r (could be r-prime) would like to create a study
s-prime, and would be able to do the following:
    a. create study s-prime
    b. Use study s as template -- to copy *all* event definitions over to
    s-prime
    c. researcher r then will fine tune (delete event e2, add event e4) on
    his/her study s-prime later
Does the above scenario describe what you alluded in item #1 of your recent
    e-mail?

    confused. Thanks.
Thanks for quickly giving me answers about my questions.
    1. I understand the reason and definition of reassign function as you
explained. Moving a subject between studies could be more complex, could we
do it by moving a subject between events in a same study? Because I think it
would be much useful in research when a subject was assigned to an event
(such as heart monitor), he may participate in another event (such as
diabetes) at same time due to the relation in the study or he could be
transfer from one to another event in the study. The study he invloves does
not change, but event(s) could be changed or shared. In this way, user's
study role doesn't need to change.
    2. I got it and made change for our system.
    3. OK, I can use study coordinator role for data entry user this time. It
seems no difference between study coordinator and study director. If there
is significant difference, please let me know.
    Thank you so much,
    Wei

    Hello, Wei,
We will have to set up a user name and password for you so that you can
access the New Features and Requirements pages at the Public Wiki.
    Regarding your questions:
    1. The "Reassign" button only allows you to move a subject between sites
of the current study. We will try to make this clearer in our
    documentation.
I agree that it would be a great feature to move and/or copy subjects
from one study to another. That is inherently more complex, and raises
a number of issues about dataset integrity, and restrictions based on
the user's access rights on each study. We are addressing this
    currently, and
    2. There is a line in your datainfo.properties file called
"passwd_expiration_time=[number of days]". Change this setting.
    3. Currently it is not possible to expand the set of actions that a data
    entry user may perform.

    Hi, Yufang,
Thank you for your help and message.
I tried to login to the site you mentioned, but it doesn't work for me.
I don't know what the problem is. I guess the username and password
should be the same as what I used to login to the OpenClinica website.
But it seems not. The information I got confuses me. Please see below

Then login icon disappears. What is next? I can do nothing.
    Another three questions:
    1. Reassign subject function: This is a very useful function in clinical
research projects. My understanding is you could reassign a subject from
    one study to another among
the studies a user has access to. How do I do this? I tried clicking
"subjects" under manage study to get all subjects. There is reassign
icon in Actions. Click reassign goes to Reassign Study
Subject page where suppose to list all studies for the user to pick up,
you should select anyone to go. In my test, I can see only
the current study that the subject belongs to, no any other options can
    be
selected. Is that right or not? If not, how to fix it? What did I miss
to get it? Similarly, can a subject be reassigned among the events in a
    study?
    2. Is there any place to set up the user password expire duration?
    3. Data entry role can input data, but cannot update data later
on according to my test. I have to assign study coordinator role to the
user so that they can do both of insert and update. Is that by design or
did I miss something? How could I allow a data entry
user to insert new subjects and update data as needed later?
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi, Wei,
We record subjects' ages which are ages when they participant an event
and assessment data have been collected.
At this point, it is not sure when we are going to implement the
    extract
filter. We have a web site which lists future features and their
development status. Users are also welcome to input features they want
and those features will be implemented according to features'

    Hi,
I have a question to discuss with OpenClinica 2.0. When you login to
submit data, no matter whether a subject is new or existed, clicking
Entry Data or Continue Entry Data in Actions always makes top main
menu gray. No matter what role is assigned to a user, when MainMenu is
gray, full MainMenu(all buttons) was showed in gray. If there are many
CRFs associated in the study to input data form by form, you have to
click Back on the top of tool bar same times to go back to the page
where the mainMenu is active. Does it work as this as design for
purpose? or Is it a bug? In some case, user may only input data for a
couple of CRFs then returns back to mainMenu; if user can click one
button to go back to MainMenu, that would be much better and friendly
than they have to click Back several times to get MainMenu with active
status for further operation now. Is there any one can explain this
    and
make it work as we expected?
The age calculation as I asked last time, it should be a dynamic
number, which means it should calculate by Current date - birth of
date. Our users here asked me this question. The explanation from
userGroup couldn't be accepted by them because enrollment date - BOD
    is
static which can't tell user what age of a subject is now, at the time
they are looking data. What do you think? The current definition has
    any
    special meaning or usage?
When do you plan to put filter function back to Extract data?
    Thanks,

But it seems not. The information I got confuses me. Please see below
the snapshot I got after login:
    start]] OpenClinica

    Trace: * start
    You are here: start
    Permission Denied
Sorry, you don*t have enough rights to continue. Perhaps you forgot to
    login?

    Thanks a lot,
    Wei

    Hi, Wei,
We record subjects' ages which are ages when they participant an event
and assessment data have been collected.
At this point, it is not sure when we are going to implement the
    extract
filter. We have a web site which lists future features and their
development status. Users are also welcome to input features they want
and those features will be implemented according to features'
    priorities.
    The site is http://www.openclinica.org/dokuwiki/doku.php
Following "Public Wiki" link, you will be lead to "Future Features and
Enhancements" link. We will appreciate you providing your requirements
    there.
    Thank you.

    Hi, Yufang,
Your advice is help and it works for return back to active menu that
    is
what we need. Thanks a lot. I would like to hear from you more about
    age
    and filter.
    Thanks,
    Wei

    Hi Wei,
About "Enter Data" to CRFs, there is a button "Exit" just beside
    "Save"
button in each section of a CRF. It will bring you to active screen
immediately, although it doesn't lead you to the mainMenu page.
    Remember
saving your input before exit. Hope this help. Let us know what you
    think after you try this.
We will discuss about age calculation and filter function.
    Thank you.
    Yufang

    Hi,
I have a question to discuss with OpenClinica 2.0.
    Thanks,
    Wei
