I downloaded PostgreSQL however, I cannot find the postgresql-8.2.msi file as described under the installation guide.

Please advice how should I proceed.

Thanks,

    Hi there,

What operating system are you using? If you are running Windows Vista, you will more than likely have to turn off User Access Control (UAC) before doing anything with Postgres.

If that is not helping, then you might try creating the 'postgres' user account before installation.

    Hope that helps, Tom

    Hi All,

I was able to complete the installation, create the postgres account. I got as far as step 11 in the OC installation guidelines. "Verify your Environment"

¨ Open a command line and type "set JAVA_HOME" and verify the variable is set to your Java directory (in this case probably JAVA_HOME=C:\ jdk1.5.0_14) - this step was completed.

¨ Open a command line and type "set CATALINA_HOME" and verify the variable is set to your Tomcat directory (in this case probably CATALINA_HOME=c:\tomcat5) - this step was completed.

¨ Open a web browser on the server to http://localhost:8080 and verify Tomcat is up and running. - I got a blank screen.

¨ Open a web browser on the server to http://localhost:8080/OpenClinicaand verify the web application loads. You should see the OpenClinica login screen. - I got a blank screen.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks, A

    Ricardo;
Hi; I have installed Apache Tomcat but when I try to start it is not coming up. When I click OK after have done the necessary configurations on the Manual Document; all the commands start, stop, restart are just grayed.
    What could be the problem.

    Hi Brian,

Check this things first and let me know.

Did you install the correct java version?
Did you update the java options on the tomcat properties in the java separator?

After you install tomcat you scroll down the web page and there are more configurations for tomcat.

Did you restart the your computer after that?

I think the best way is to install and configure everything first, follow all the steps in the wizard and then test it.

Re: [Users] Open Clinica Installation Hi Brian,
The error makes me think the machine does not have enough memory for the settings we recommend. If you set the “1280” Max memory pool and the “-XX:MaxPermSize=180m” as per my installation instructions tomcat would need at least 1360mb of memory to run. Your error message makes me think you do not have that much memory. Quickly remove those settings and then see if tomcat will start. If tomcat starts that is your issue.
    Thanks,
    Shaun
