CRF and OpenOffice 3.0

i read in an earlier thread that OC may not support Excel format (.xls) CRFs created by OpenOffice 3.0 (Windows XP SP2). Is this a known issue?
I am having some issues uploading a new CRF that i created in OO from the default template for 2.5. Please reference Issue Tracker 0003204 .
Also i get an "Invalid value" error when entering alphanumeric data in Items.Page_Number and Question_Number when using OO.
thanks,
phil fielder

  • Yes, it is a known issue that CRFs created with OpenOffice can not be
    uploaded through the application.
We have received a contribution of a web based way to create CRFs and
then export them into .xls documents which can then be successfully
uploaded into OpenClinica. We will be testing this contribution
extensively over the coming months and then figuring out the best way to
make it available to the rest of the community.
Whether it will be integrated with OpenClinica, offered as a stand alone
application that is downloaded and used locally, or if we host it as
part of the CRF library are just some of the options. It will probably
be a mix of all of them but we need to figure out where to start.
    Thanks,
    Paul
