OpenClinica installation issue

We have followed the instructions exactly how they were listed in the installation guide and the video guide, but have failed to get pass the login screen. We keep getting a blank screen after trying to login – suggesting a problem in connecting to the database. We would appreciate if we can get some sort of help in resolving this issue.
Thanks,
-Wasif

  • Hi Wasif,
For starters, is your database on the same machine as the webserver? What kind of errors is Tomcat generating? You can also look at the files generated in Tomcat's log directory - under /logs - and post the messages here for more help.

So far I don't see anything there that is a show-stopper; are there other files in the log directory (localhost or catalina, etc) that contain errors?

Going by the time log, that's the only file that was updated at the time of accessing openclinica.

    Hi Wasif,
You probably checked this already, but are you 100% sure your
datainfo.properties is configured right? In you Catalina.log it seems that
    you configured it for Oracle:
    Jul 27, 2010 12:59:18 PM liquibase.ChangeSet execute
    INFO: Marking ChangeSet:
    migration/2.5/changeLogCreateTables.xml::235684743487-10-1::kkrumlian::(MD5S
um: 84dcdcd930ab25795fde7e3fba109fa9) ran due to precondition failure:
DBMS Precondition failed: expected oracle, got postgresql
Futhermore, it looks like you are using Tomcat 7: try switching back to 6
    and see if that helps.
    Keep us informed,

  • Hi,
I am trying to install OpenClinic in the remote system. I have folloowed the same steps that are provided in the installation guide. When I check in Tomcat Web Application Manager, it shows as "false" against OpenClinica. It seems like database Openclinica is not identified. I have attached the Tomcat log file.
kindly help me in getting this resolved as I am looking for the feasibility of using OpenClinica.

  • Hi,
In your log file it shows "(FATAL: database "Openclinica-ws" does not exist)". Have you downloaded the right version of the PG?
Or have you created the database in the PG?
the 3.1.1 version is compatible with PG 8.4 only and not anything else.
Please revert the system you are installing the OC on.
    Regards,
    Mr. Hemant

    Hi,
I am trying to install OpenClinic in the remote system.
    Regards,
    Sathish
