    Hi Shmulik,
    R is a free (OSS) statistical package.
    It's the open twin to S, a statistics programming environment.
    Have a look at their site to know more about it:
    http://www.r-project.org
    There is/has been interest in the medical community about: peeking into its 'world' you can find packages supporting some of the statistical aspects of clinical trials.
    There is a sound base of free and commercial documentation around it.
