Users Digest, Vol 89, Issue 34

Hi,
On a study that I have set up, the global subject record had the date of birth field inaccurately entered. However, when as study director with administrative privileges I try to edit the record it fails to get updated.
On the Openclinica log I get the following entry:
getRuleSetsByCrfStudyAndStudyEventDefinition() : ruleSets Size 0 :
08/25 21:35:47 [OpenClinica] LPR INFO arun_ks o.a.o.s.r.RuleSetService:344 - getRuleSetsByCrfStudyAndStudyEventDefinition() : ruleSets Size 0 :
08/25 21:36:06 [OpenClinica] UUCP ERROR jacob o.a.o.c.a.UpdateSubjectServlet:299 - update subject validation errors
08/25 21:36:46 [OpenClinica] LPR INFO arun_ks o.a.o.s.r.RuleSetService:344 - getRuleSetsByCrfStudyAndStudyEventDefinition() : ruleSets Size 0 :
Could someone suggest a workaround without changing the database itself as the study is live. I use 3.1.4 on a windows 2003 enterprise server.
Best,
Jacob

Dear Users.
I have two questions Q1,Q2 both have choice, 1, 2 ( 1=Yes and 2=No)
how to put a validation in Excel CRF, or make a rule which checks, when
user slick on save.
Both Q1 and Q2 can not be 1
Both Q1 and Q2 can not be 2
If Q1 is 1 then Q2 must be 2
if Q1 is 2 then Q2 must be 1.
In nutshell, Either Q1 or Q2 should be 1
Thanks for the help.
Regards

Dear Users and Developers
I have a CRF which has a question, Form Completion Date and Time.
Shall I make this question separate, or is there something in metadata
which represents completion time.
Or date and time on which CRF marked as complete.
Thanks and Regards

    I have the same problem. This was reported in a thread on the developers list in January 2013 [1]. Since I couldn't find a better ticket to update I added my comments in Jira to OC-1637 [2].
    Unless someone has a fix or a good workaround to share, the alternative would be to collect date of birth on a CRF.

    Hi Jacob and Lindsay,
    There actually is a workaround: setting the PersonID as optional in your
    StudyParameters.
    Strange thing is that you do not have to fill it in: there will be just a
    box and even if you leave it empty, you can modify the DoB and then go to
    the next screen with a Submit-button and all.
    Some guidelines:
    - if you want to collect DoB on Subject-level, set PersonID to optional
    - if you want to use web-services, set gender to required
    - if you want to do any validations on DoB or gender, or if yu want to use
    them in validations of other items, collect them in a CRF
    Hope this helps,
