Show and hide fields in CRF

Hi!

My CRF contains two fields in different sections: Field 1 in section 1 and Field 2 in section 2. Both of the fields are of radio type with two response values - "Yes/No" (corresponding values are 1/2).
I have successfully implemented show and hide behaviour for the Field 2 that depends on the answer selected for Field 1 via rules.

Now suppose user selects "Yes" for Field 1 and saves. The rule shows Field 2. User selects any of the responses for Field 2("Yes"/"No") and Saves. But after a while user comes back to change the response for Field 1 to "No". However, the Field 2 is still available and the response previously selected for it is also available.

Summing up the above, the problem is that Field 2 that has to be hidden when a definite response for Field 1 is selected does not hide when any of the responses for the Field 2 is selected.

Could you please advise?

Thanks.

Khurshed.

    HI there,

You can just write another rule (discrepancynoteaction) to check for the
    appropriate responses (e.g., if field1=no and field2 ne """ then display a
discrepancy note that describes the problem - response cannot be no if
there is a value in field 2 (or something to that effect.))

    Hi Laura,

That is good. But what if the user wants to set Field1=no? He has to uncheck the Field 2 which has either "Yes" or "No". How can this be achieved?

    Thanks.

    Hi Khurshed,

Ahhhh....good old radio buttons. You have two options for this: Either make
the fields single-select (rather than radio button) or refer to this Trial
    Data Solutions document
    to add an
"undo" button next to your radio button, which allows you to clear out a
    radio button selection.
