CRF - Response Options Text

Is it possible to have a single radio button or checkbox without text next to it? For example, in a table I have a column heading "Ongoing" and you would only check the box or button below this heading if this pertains to that particular subject; otherwise it would be left unchecked. Thanks.

  • Hi Sheila,
Left Item Text and Right Item Text are not required, but a response
option is required for Checkboxes and Radio buttons. Because a response
option is required for those response types, there will be some type of
    text next to the field.
You could put a . as the response option. This would be as close to
leaving it blank as you could get.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hello,
A . is considered a character or text, correct?
    Or, not.
May I use a . for a response_value for blank values when my datatype is integer and I am assigning values to a single-select response_type?
    Thanks.

  • Hi Pam,
In 2.5, you could use a response value of . for an item with a data type
    of INT.
However, in 3.0 you will not be allowed to upload a CRF when the
response_values do not match the data type of the item. This will
result in an error during the upload. If the data type is INT, the
    response values must be integers.
It will not cause a problem collecting any data with CRFs you have
    uploaded prior to using 3.0.
    Thanks,
    Paul
