FATAL: Ident authentication failed for user ""clinica

I have installed as per instructions:
Centos 5.3
Postgres 8.4.4
Apache Tomcat 6.0.24
Java 2 SDK 1.6.0-14
I successfully have executed the create create_role.sql and create_db.sql
But when I try and deploy the war file and restart tomcat I get this
error in the logfile:
SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener
instance of class
org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener
org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error
creating bean with name 'liquibase' defined in file
[/usr/local/apache-tomcat-6.0.29/webapps/OpenClinica/
WEB-INF/classes/org/akaza/openclinica/applicationContext-core-db.xml]:
Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is
liquibase.exception.JDBCException: org.apac
he.commons.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot create
PoolableConnectionFactory (FATAL: Ident authentication failed for user
"clinica")
I can connect using:
psql -U clinica -d openclinica
Any help would sure be appreciated as I did a google search and did
not find many posts on this error.
Thanks
Jim

You should try to set FALSE in databasechangeloglock table. I guess it helps.

    Hello Jim,
Maybe this has to do with your CentOS.
Have a look at http://www.depesz.com/index.php/2007/10/04/ident/ and your
    pg_hba.conf
    Hope this helps,
