Invalid Format Date

Hi
I'm very new to OpenClinica.
I'm an end user and I'm logged in as study director.
I succeeded in creating working CRF, I found quite easily all answers to my problems except the one about the "format date"
Selecting by the calendar or typing the date in any way always sends the same message error and does not allow me to complete the form.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Claude, France.

    Hi Claude
It would be helpful if you described in more details what you meant by
"typing the date in any way". But maybe the OpenClinica Community
    UserManual [1] might help.

    Hi Claude-
If I understand correctly, you're trying to complete the form but it won't take your dates entered.
Dates must be entered as dd-Mmm-yyyy. The first letter of the month must be capitalized, while the second and third letters are lower-case.
If you've programmed the field to be a partial date, then you don't need all the fields. You could enter:
    dd-Mmm-yyy
    Mmm-yyyy
    yyyy
You do not enter any "unknowns" like some EDC systems (i.e. UN-UNK-2000).
Please note that the field must have been programmed as a partial date field (PDATE) in order for the system to except partial dates. If you've programmed the field as a regular date field, all three elements of the date must exist.
    I hope that helps-

  • As an addition to this, we find that if we enter a date such as 12/02/1990 and then click the calendar we find that the correct date as been selected on the calender. Clicking on the calendar changes the date to the required format dd-Mmm-yyyy, i.e. 12 Feb 1990, which saves time on data entry.

    Hi Claude,
Let me add to the confusion. Many programming languages such as the one used
in OpenClinica frequently require that the dates are entered in English,
meaning that the month must be spelled in English. As long as you operating
system on your server is installed as the English version you will not have
a problem . The browser usually handles this correctly. However, if your
operating system on the PC or the server is installed in your local language
you will have the problems as you describe. As long as you are working with
Windows 7 or Windows server 2003 or 2008 you can fix this by installing the
English language support after the fact by installing the Multilingual User
    Interface (MUI) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multilingual_User_Interface .
Sometimes you also have to change the REGION settings in the CTRL panel.
    Hope this helps!
    Regards
    Krister
