New using OpenClinica, need advice about the ability managing multi sites study using OC community edition.
What we typically do is that we ´create a the "mother study" with each site a subsidy. Each investigator and CRC can then only see his/her own site while the CRA or study director can see all the sites.
First you build the main study (item 1- 5) and when this is done you create the sites (item 6) and assign the users (item 7).
You should not have any problems accessing OpenClinica from different countries. Are you sure Tomcat is running? You have to include the server port in your start up string e.g.
http://10.168,250.200:8080/OpenClinica/ You also have to make sure that the server .
allows remote access in the fire wall,

A way to check the location of the problem is to try to access the Tomcat webserver by http://10.168.250.200:8080/
If you get the Tomcat welcome page, your network connections are probably fine and the issue could be with your OpenClinica installation, or OpenClinica is not started on the webserver. To check this out use the Tomcat Manager (http://10.168.250.200:8080/manager) to see if Tomcat thinks OpenClinica is started, but first look at http://chandank.com/application-server/tomcat/tomcat-login-problem which shows you how to specify the access.
If however you do not get the Tomcat welcome page, you have either a network problem or Tomcat is not running. At this point you need your network support people.
Another possible cause could be low network bandwidth if you are operating in remote locations - I've heard reports of not being able to use OpenClinica in some of the remote areas of South Africa where the only network access available is a 2.5G mobile network.

You can tell your IT support team that they should follow the OpenClinica install instruction to the letter, If they do, it will always work, locally as well as remotely. I know IT people are special "bunch" that have their own ways of doing things. That won't always work. If they follow the instructions it take less than 30 minutes to install OpenClinica and all its support programs, but you have to do it right!! If it does not work, you same a lot of time by simply erase everything and start from scratch.
