Hi Everyone,

I'm pleased to announce that OpenClinica 3.5 is now available for download. In this last release cycle we've been working on some really exciting things and fixing some things as well.
Much of the work are on APIs which you can find in our release notes. This work has helped us to build a new module for the OpenClinica Enterprise Suite - Participate. Participate is our new ePro module which you can find more information on here: http://participate.openclinica.com/

To download OpenClinica community you can go here:

Release notes are here:

Cheers!
Alicia

    Hi Alicia,

    Congratulations to this new release. I have already installed it on two systems and it worked right out of the box. One small comment only. I think you should modify the installation instruction and remove the reference to WIN 2003 as it will soon be obsolete as you know. We use WIN 2008 R2 on most of our servers but we have it running on WIN 12 as well and we have also successfully installed 3.4 on WIN 10 preview and observed no problems.

    Great!

    But openclinica 3.4 and 3.5 both give "http status 404 resources not found" while 3.3 runs without problem.

    To upgrade, do we just delete webapps/openclinica and place the new .war in it? Stop and start tomcat before and after.

    environment:
    windows 2008 SP2, jdk1.7.0_51, postgresql 8.4, tomcat 7.0.59

    In principle yes, but first undeploy the old OpenClinica in Tomact manager, the You can delete OpenClinica from Webapps after you have stopped Tomcat. The restart Tomcat and copy the new WAR file into Webapps. You may have to go back into Tomact manager to check that OpenClinica is started. If not, click on start.

    Now you should be up and running.

    Thanks very much.

    Did that, but it still does not start.

    tomcat7-stderr log file there is this error:
    SEVERE: Error listenerStart

    Besides, there is a servlet-2.3.jar which seems to conflict with tomcat library.

    The Error listenerStart is caused by postgreSQL authentication. I found out by adding the /WEB-INF/classes/logging.properties file

    org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[Catalina].level = INFO
    org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[Catalina].handlers = java.util.logging.Consol

    There are two datainfo.properties files:
    C:\oc\tomcat\webapps\OpenClinica\WEB-INF\classes
    C:\oc\tomcat\openclinica.config

    Change the dbPass field in both files and restart tomcat will solve the problem.
