I have put together a page in the OpenClinica User Manual (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/OpenClinica_User_Manual)
on issues affecting the performance of OpenClinica.
It points out that factors such as CRF size (smaller is better), and the server software and hardware contribute to application performance (and you can use things like reverse proxying with Nginx and configuring PostgreSQL to improve performance), and suggests how to measure and analyse ‘performance’:http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/OpenClinica_User_Manual/Performance
I thought it might be a good starting point for those that ask for better performance (in general) out of their OpenClinica systems. Please add to it if you have any suggestions.
I have also put up a ‘wishlist’ thrown up by an analysis of an OpenClinica page using YSlow:http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/OpenClinica_User_Manual/PageAnalysis
