[Developers] Problems while uploading rules

We made a large number of improvements to rules validation and testing in 3.0.4 and 3.0.4.1.

See https://issuetracker.openclinica.com/roadmap_page.php?version_id=42 and https://issuetracker.openclinica.com/roadmap_page.php?version_id=44 for details
(sorry the issues are kind of hard to read with the strikethroughs, copy and paste to notepad for easier viewing).

Sounds like you are using 3.0.1. I’d highly recommend upgrading to the latest version.

Hello,
There was nothing useful in the logs.

We have several developers developing rules on their own machines which work but all have been having problems uploading rules to the test server. One developer successfully uploaded rules which had previously been unsuccessful, after a restart of Tomcat on the server but the next time someone tried they were unsuccessful.

I have attached some of the logs.

The first attachment “Problems while uploading rules” is an unsuccessful attempt to load rules to the server even after a restart of Tomcat
The second attachment “local machine” is what happens when the same set of rules is loaded to a local machine
The third set “Robins success” is what happens when a set of rules is loaded successfully after a restart of Tomcat.

I hope this makes sense and would be grateful if anyone can shed any light ion the problem.

Many thanks
Jennifer

Hello,
Perhaps, you can find more information about that error in openclinica log file.
Please, check it and let us know if there any exceptions.

Hello all,

We have just experienced the same thing. We are going to schedule in a periodic restart of Tomcat. Have you found any other answer to the problem?

Hi all,

While uploading a (correct) rule XML file, Open Clinica 3.0.1 sometimes issues an internal error.
The message is general, it does not indicate what possibly went wrong.
Once this happens, it is no longer possible to upload that file anymore.
However, if we restart Tomcat, the error is gone and the rule works.

Is anyone experiencing this, or should we check the settings of our server ? (W2008)

Thanks,

    Hi Jennifer,
Would it be possible to send me the entire stdout_20110325.log off-list? There may be something significant that occurs before the NullPointer is thrown. Thanks, Tom
