Dear all,
We have defined two trials in OpenClinica and they behave differently with regard to the ‘view within record’ functionality when addressing discrepancy notes.
1) In study A when one clicks ‘view within record’, both the discrepancy note and the associated CRF pop up. The CRF appears in the ‘enter data’ mode and is thus editable (the ‘save’ button appears)
2) In study B when one clicks ‘view within record’, both the discrepancy note and the associated CRF pop up, but the CRF is not editable and appears in the ‘view’ mode
Situation 1 is the preferred option; we would like to edit study B in such a way that it has the same functionality as study A when using ‘view within record’.
But how do we do this?
Thanks a lot,
Nelly

Are you using double data entry? The CRF is not editable until double data entry is completed.
Or, with single data entry, the factor that comes to my mind is that the CRF has not been marked as "Complete". Workflow at that time assumes taht the data will still be changed by investigator before final save.

Thank you very much for your reply.
The study set-up parameters are similar between both studies. We use single data entry. But indeed it has to do with the CRF status. When the CRF still bears the status ‘data entry started’, the ‘view within record’ functionality brings you to the CRF in ‘view’ mode (and is thus not editable). When the CRF is set to ‘complete’, both the discrepancy note and the CRF in editable mode pop up. Makes sense.
Kind regards,
Nelly

Are the study set up parameters the same between the two studies?
