CRF Spreadsheet & Data Dictionaries

I am just wondering about including a data dictionary in the CRF spreadsheets for a study: one can create an item with RESPONSE_TYPE set to a list (e.g. single select), and then include in the RESPONSE_OPTIONS_TEXT a comma-separated list of all the items in the data dictionary of preference for that field. Is that a correct approach of including a controlled vocabulary in a CRF in OpenClinica?
I am trying to generate the CRF spreadsheets in batches for multiple CRFs, and that is the reason for the question.
