Insight makes it easy to ask questions of ALL of your clinical and operational data and visualize answers via interactive reports and dashboards. The idea is simple, but the results are powerful: ask your questions, choose your visualizations, then return often for updated, interactive results that link you to all of the underlying data.

edit or update subject info

Hi,
According to your experiance and features of Openclinica, is there a funtion to update subject info such as DOB and gender after data entry of them? I checked Edit Record in Subject Record for SID. It goes to page of Update Study Subject Details, where only show study subject id, seconary lable and enrollment to be updated, no DOB and Gender. If these data were input wrong, can we change them in front end? and How?
Thanks for any idea and help!
Wei

    Hi Wei,
On the View Subject page, click 'Global Subject Record' and then 'Edit
Record'. If you are the owner of the record, you can edit Person ID,
gender, and date of birth. If you are a business administrator, you can
also access this through the Business Admin module.
    Best,
    Cal

    Hi, Cal,
I test it as you said. You are right in how to use this function. It seems the owner of record doesn't work if the user role is only user, but user role with business admin works. That means we have to give user such as data entry people pretty high privillege like Study coordinator for edit CRF data and business role for update subject data. Is there any plan in the future to change this?
Please see the page http://localhost:8080/OpenClinica/ViewStudySubject?id=5&from=listSubject#global to compare the differece between different roles of a user.
    Thanks,
    Wei

    Good Morning Wei,
The way the functionality works now with OpenClinica, only a user with
Business Administration privileges can alter information that would
affect all of the studies within OpenClinica.
Because the functionality is built that way, a Data Entry Person will
not be allowed to change the DOB or Gender for a subject as that
information is tied to the Global Record.
Right now, you could give the Data Entry Person BA privileges and they
will only be allowed to see the Submit Data and the Business Admin
module. However, as you said, that would be giving them too much
    access.
I would like to log a ticket in Mantis with greater detail on
specifications on what the Data Entry Person should be able to do.
Should the Data Entry Person who owns the record of a subject because
they created the subject be allowed to change the DOB or Gender, or
should the Data Entry Person be allowed to change any subjects DOB or
Gender even if they did not created the subject in OpenClinica?
    Thanks for your feedback.
    Paul
